Senior Manager: Technical

Requirements:
5 8 years previous motor industry experience
Relevant technical qualification
Valid drivers licence
Previous relationships/experience working with OEMs
Computer, technology and systems skills (Intermediate MS Office literacy, Advanced DARA and AS400 literacy)
Developed analytical and diagnostic skills to review data
Well-developed conflict resolution skills
Well-developed internal resilience (EQ) and interpersonal skills to maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
Broad understanding of the economical influences on car rental
Knowledge of the key drivers of vehicle cost
Knowledge of motor industry
Business finance knowledge
Understand the importance of implementing effective structures and work-flow
In-depth understanding of workshop and panel shop environments
Knowledge of DARA and AS400
Intermediate knowledge of the mechanics of a vehicle
Responsibilities:

Ensure that damage, ops and maintenance information is supplied for team meetings by due date
Regional performance measured against plan monthly and assist regions with corrective measures (damage, ops and maintenance)
Assist with analysis of variances where needed
Scorecard KPI''s are measured monthly
Trends are identified, analysed and action taken to reduce cost / optimise revenue (e.g. Breakdowns and Emergencies reports, recurring major technical failures, cost of damage repairs, parts availability, customer damage information)
Negotiate price to minimise cost (damage and maintenance)
Maximise revenue/rebates from internal part purchases
Ensure CABS meet required billing standards
Salvage supplier''s contract is renewed and market related
Negotiate compensation for excessive down time with manufacturers (enforce SLAs)
Ensure all potential claims due to technical malfunction are reported and investigated by manufacturers
Prepare and obtain approval for annual budget by due date
Assist Operations with budget parameters when required
Scheduled audit plan in place for panel shops/damage department
Actioning of recall campaigns are planned, scheduled and completed according to guidelines Operational Performance
Escalated part supplied delays are actioned and followed up
Warranty claim dashboard items are reviewed monthly and action taken to achieve targets
All reports are managed to avoid potential losses
Fuel system is in place and delivers adequate results
Assist Operations with minimising vehicle downtime
