Senior IT Technician

We're recruiting for the position of Senior IT Technician. The purpose of this position will be to take responsibility for the day to day running of all centralised infrastructure, as well as the national SD-WAN. This will include VMware Privace Cloud, ADDS and ADFS, SQL Enterprise Clusters, Terminal Services, Web Servers, File Services, Exchange Server and Office365 in Hybrid. The primary objective will be to ensure the availability of applications in line with internal SLAs. View our other positions on (Facebook)(http://www.facebook.com/apmcSA), (LinkedIn)(https://www.linkedin.com/company/18124490) and (Instagram)(https://www.instagram.com/apmc_sa/). * Taking responsibility for the day to day running of all centralised infrastructure, as well as the national SD-WAN; including VMware Privace Cloud, ADDS and ADFS, SQL Enterprise Clusters, Terminal Services, Web Servers, File Services, Exchange Server and Office365 in Hybrid * Ensuring the availability of applications in line with internal SLAs * Being available on standby for maintenance and issues outside of normal working hours * Continuously monitoring the status of all infrasructure * Handling incident and problem management functions * Taking responsibility for project and change management * Facilitating system upgrades and migrations in line with the IT roadmap * Managing level 3 escalations from regional IT teams * Maintaining the automated patch management system to ensure end user devices are up to date * Reviewing and approving change requests in accordance with the change management process * Managing vendor performance and relationships * Maintaining the ticketing system * Ensuring technical SLAs are met * Writing technical documentation * Developing and presenting technical training * VMware Certified; Microsoft MCE Certified; Veeam Certified; Office365 Certified; Cisco, FortiGate or Sophos Certified; ITIL Certified; basic experience with C# and SQL scripting  * Advanced Windows Server and VMware skills * Experience designing and supporting IT systems including disaster recovery * Advanced understanding of networking including Firewalls, SD-WAN, routing and NAT * Strong understanding of email and specifically Office365 in a hybrid deployment * Experience implementing a cyber security framework such as NIST or CIS * Experience maintaining automation tools such as N-Able, Kaseya or ConnectWise Automate * Experience maintaining monitoring tools such as Zabbix or Nagios * Experience writing PowerShell scripts * VMware Certified; Microsoft MCE Certified; Veeam Certified; Office365 Certified; Cisco, FortiGate or Sophos Certified; ITIL Certified; basic experience with C# and SQL scripting  * Advanced Windows Server and VMware skills * Experience designing and supporting IT systems including disaster recovery * Advanced un
