JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The purpose of this role is to provide leadership, direction and commercial excellence to ensure goods and services for operational needs are met minimizing supply risk in a timely and effective manner in accordance with defined policies and procedures.

EXPERIENCE:
Min 10 years in a commercial or mining and metals environment, Mining / Capital Intensive industry experience preferred
At least 5 years in leading a team of professionals
Strong experience in developing commercial strategies for non-contracted spend, negotiations and supply systems and governance
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Min Bachelor Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Engineering or related disciplines

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
Provide leadership, expertise and direction to the Purchasing sub-function to ensure operational procurement needs are met in a timely and effective manner, acts as the single-point of accountability for Purchasing information;
Own and embed standard control framework of guidelines and procedures for purchasing management, data requests and transactions to ensure quality and consistency;
Manage efforts to drive performance of efficient end to end purchasing processes;
Provide input into long-term planning and establish goals and targets in line with the plans and budgets;
Provide input to the Supply 2-Year Plan objectives and budget and drives performance and implementation accordingly;
Provide guidance to Head of Procurement on Purchasing risk management and the relevant mitigating actions;
Identify, build and develop Sub-function talent and capability, including a pipeline of talent for key positions;
Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal functions (Maintenance, Production, etc.) to ensure operational material and service requirements are met in line with schedules;
Build collaboration with the Category Management, Warehouse & Inventory sub function to optimise contracted spend, resolve supplier performance or contract issues;
Establish effective relationships with suppliers to track and measure delivery quality and payments are in full and on time;
Drive the review and release of high value non-traded goods and service Purchase Orders to ensure they have been created in accordance with standard procedures, and supplier capability to reduce risks;
