Cotlands is a registered non-profit organisation (NPO) committed to creating access to quality play-based early learning experiences through toy libraries and early learning playgroups. We capacitate adults working with children and educate the parents of children on a variety of topics related to early childhood development.

The Mentor/ Materials developer will be responsible to mentor, monitor and support learners throughout the learner journey. Develops training material for face to face and on-line training.  


Mentoring

The following duties include but may not be limited to:

Administration
Ensure learners receive all the required resources (Orientation handout, manuals and guidelines, device, data, etc.)
Ensure learners complete all required agreements.
Conduct the learning style questionnaire with all learners.

 

Mentor and support

Mentor, monitor and support learners throughout the learner journey.
Assist learners with on boarding and navigating the platforms.
Trouble shoot when learners face technological challenges.
Trouble shoot when learners face challenges with content or tasks.
Organise, plan and host group sessions to ensure training content is shared, discussed, and understood - may be face to face or virtual.
Organise, plan and host individual sessions to assist learners with content, and or evidence submission challenges - may be face to face or virtual.
Organise, plan and host sessions to plan and prepare for formative and summative assessments and compiling of their POE - may be face to face or virtual.
Organise plan and host sessions to plan and prepare for site visit to sign off practical modules and workplace modules - may be face to face or virtual.
Plot, analyse and assist learners to ensure optimal progress.
Check and sign off POE’s, assessment records, logbooks as required.

 

Site visits and internal/external stakeholders
Conduct required support and mentoring contact sessions with learners – maybe face to face or virtual.
Facilitate Community of Practice (CoP) groups for learners for their group work and peer to peer support.
Review learner’s formative and summative assessments and PoE submission on the online assessment platform to ensure all is complete and in order prior to assessment.
Assist learners to find a suitable site to conduct their workplace experience when required.
Conduct site visits to mentor/coach and assess learners.
Conduct site visits to sign off learner’s work place experience.
Liaise with sites where learners are completing practical modules and workplace modules.
Liaise with internal teams to ensure correct allocation of learnerships and timeous publishing o
