DevOps Platform Engineer

The DevOps Platform is responsible for the design and implementation of processes and tools to enable continuous integration and continuous delivery, maximizing the speed and quality of delivery across teams.  The role is responsible for automating build, release, deployment, and configuration activities.  The incumbent needs to work closely with software, QA, and systems engineers to understand requirements and prototype, architect, implement, operate, and update DevOps solutions accordingly.  This role must be flexible to constant business and technology change, with the ability to interact, engineer, and communicate collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.   Key accountabilities and decision ownership * The DevOps Platform is responsible for the design and implementation of processes and tools to enable continuous integration and continuous delivery, maximizing the speed and quality of delivery across teams * This role is responsible for automating build, release, deployment, and configuration activities * This role is responsible for working closely with software, QA, and systems engineers to understand requirements and prototype, architect, implement, operate and update DevOps solutions accordingly * This role must be flexible to constant business and technology change, with the ability to interact, engineer, and communicate collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders   Core competencies, knowledge and experience : * Automated software and infrastructure deployment and configuration management * Agile and Devops Software development experience * Public and private cloud IaaS and PaaS deployment models and technologies, e.g. Openstack, AWS, Azure * Continuous integration and continuous delivery methodologies and tools * Production-readiness assessment of modules and supporting systems * Analytics and data-driven frameworks to monitor and optimize development and operations processes * Strong understanding of network protocols and client-server communication * Expertise with at least two or more programming languages (e.g. PHP, Java) * Database technologies -RDBMS, e.g. MySQL, PostGreSQL, Oracle and NoSQL e.g. Cassandra, Spark, Redis, Mongo,etc. * Virtualization and infrastructure technologies, e.g. Windows, Linux, VMWare, Xen, KVM, Docker * Infrastructure automation and configuration management tools, e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt * Software and hardware vendor solution evaluation and negotiation * Ability to analyse and interpret complex problems or processes, identify and understand requirements, and develop solutions * Strong creativity, problem solving skills and ability to apply original thinking to produce new ideas and innovative solutions * Strong relationship building, persuasion, and collaboration skills that enables the coordination of activities between technical teams and the creation of new relationships with new acquaintances quickly and confidently * Str
