Construction Site Manager

The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Construction Site Manager for a 12-month fixed term contract for our client in Kriel in Mpumalanga.

 

We are looking for a minimum of 10 years work experience in power generation and construction.

 

Purpose of the role:

The Site Manager has the overall responsibility for coordinating and integrating all construction activities on site, in compliance with instructions, drawings and specifications received from the Project Manager as well as the development of the construction processes and procedures.



 

Minimum educational level:                                                      
Mechanical Engineering National Diploma or Degree
8 + yearsâ?? relevant site management experience
SACPCMP registration
Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) construction experience will be advantageous
Rigging qualification or experience will be advantageous
Must have a proven track record delivering small to medium scale projects successfully
 

We require the following work experience:
Thorough knowledge and understanding of construction management principals
Thorough knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
Thorough knowledge on contract management and contract requirements
Thorough understanding of project scheduling
Good knowledge of regulatory and safety governance, focusing on site requirements
 

 
Skills and Experience:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Be appointed as the Site Manager and take associated responsibility for safe working of the Lesedi team and sub-contractors on site
Implement and enforce all required safety checks, procedures and record keeping
Execute and issue daily planning for effective project execution on site in support to the Project Manager
Planning updates and enabling execution of daily activities to achieve project milestones
Engage, negotiate and discuss site related issues with the client representatives in a professional and constructive manner
Compile and issue daily and weekly diaries
Pro-active arrangements and notifications to the Project Manager on matters impacting project execution
Execution of site establishment and associated activities
Sub-contractor management of contractor representatives on site, including monitoring and managing of progress in accordance with the daily planning
Site team establishment and identification of shortages and/or inefficiencies in Lesedi and sub-contractor teams
Managing of site equipment to ensure effective and safe use
