Description

Our client in the Engineering and Automation sector is looking for a COO to join their fast growing and dynamic organisation.The successful candidate will be leading the day-to-day operations of the business, its divisions in accordance with the strategic plan and operating and capital budgets.

Reporting only to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the goal of the COO position is to secure the functionality of business, drive extensive and sustainable growth and operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business
Partner with the CEO to coordinate the operational planning process throughout the Company, gaining active participation of key members of management.
Responsible for end to end supply chain, manufacturing, facilities management, and cost improvement.
Develop and sustain an environment of continuous improvement, optimizing schedule adherence, refining operational efficiency, and increasing profitability and productivity.
Build, train, sustain and motivate an operations team capable of achieving all productivity targets and output requirements to service customers with product on time, in full and right first time.
Establish clear operational goals and objectives in alignment with companies strategies and business initiatives.
Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, regulations and policies.
Maintain compliance with all environmental regulations.
Guarantee production operates safely and in compliance with OSHA and regulatory mandates.
Requirements:
A strong leader with proven success with production teams.
Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field, MSc/MBA is a plus
10+ years’ experience in executive leadership positions
Preference given to Employment Equity
Proven track record of managing complex budgets successfully.
Demonstrated experience of ethical leadership.
Outstanding verbal and written skills, and experience working with staff on all levels.
Understanding of advanced business planning (at least 3 years into the future)and regulatory issues
Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
