Artisan Supervisor

Minimum Requirements:
Qualified artisan (Machinist, Toolmaker, Fitter and Turner) (Red Seal certificate)
3 to 5 years’ experience in the role of supervisor/Foreman
Decisive individual with initiative, analytical ability, and creative thinking
Able to edit programs on CNC machines
Management of interpersonal relations and effective communication
Able to apply principles of workplace discipline
Be assertive and persuasive
Able to accurately interpret technical drawings and sketches
Good knowledge of quality management systems, especially ISO 9001
Summary of Responsibilities:
Effective control of production area within the organisation
Ensuring manufacturing of components is done within standard times
Plan, coordinate and control resources
Implement policies and procedures
Implement continuous improvement processes
Manage performance of subordinates
Edit and change programs on CNC machines
Monitor performance of machines and attend to defects
Do regular inspections on processes to ensure quality standards are maintained
Do final inspections on manufactured components
Liaise with Operations Manager to ensure production plan/schedule is effectively executed
Compliance with all health and safety rules and regulations
