An Electrician

The company’s Maintenance Department is looking for an Electrician with fitting experience in a maintenance environment. The in­cumbent will report to the Maintenance Manager.

 

Duties :
Adhering to food safety rules and regulations
Adhering to and implementing standard operating procedures
Conducting electrical and mechanical fault-finding
Working with 3 phase machinery
Installing and maintaining electronic sensors, PLC’s, 24 Volt control circuits
Reading and understanding electrical diagrams
Working with electronic interfaces – pneumatics / hydraulics
Programming Variable Speed Drivers
Conducting maintenance on FMCG machinery
Performing breakdown and preventative maintenance on machinery (packing machines, printers, X-Ray machines)
Maintaining accurate records of job cards and spares via I-Comply system
Conducting general building repair work – painting, plumbing, servicing lights & building, cleaning tanks
Providing assistance to external contractors and/or service providers
Performing cleaning and sanitation procedures according to standard operating procedures
Requirements :
Matric certificate
Relevant tertiary qualification (Electrical engineering)
Electrical /Red seal trade test
At least 3-5 years of post-trade test experience
Computer literate (MS Office)
Maintenance and technical background
Thorough knowledge and understanding of electronics
Experience in FMCG industry – at least 2 years
Must be willing to work shifts, stand-by and call-outs
