Quantity Surveyor

Duties:
Firm understanding and implementation of the Bill of Quantities
Take-offs for bulk orders ie Bricks, concrete, tiling, etc.
Identifying long lead items and ensuring timeous ordering thereof
Checking measures against the construction drawings to see that quantities match
Specialized orders against various schedules issued ie Ironmongery, Finishes, etc.
Measurements and confirmation of quotes
Checking ordered quantities against delivery notes to see that the correct items and quantities delivered
Generating correct CCS reports for monthly certificates, allowables, and new rates
Measurement of subcontractor claims against actual work done on site and plans
Checking orders, following up on deliveries, and pricing
Attending Site meetings
Record keeping and filing of all documents
Appointment of subcontractors
Payment of subcontractors
Cost reporting, forecasting and projected cash flows
Costing of site instructions and amending subcontractor orders
Provide information to site management for compilation of reports and certificates and drafts monthly payment - certificates
Accurately build up new rates for items omitted from BOQ, incorrectly measured in
BOQ and site instructions
