Packaging Line Operator
Reporting to: OperationsSeniority Level: Mid-Career (2-4 yrs exp)
Region: Freestate
Location: Sasolburg
Employment Type: Temp
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform all Pack line plant activities to ensure smooth and efficient packaging operations.
- Ensure packing is completed accurately, safely, and efficiently in accordance with production requirements.
- Record stock inventory, downtime, equipment availability, and production efficiency on designated log sheets.
- Ensure all bagged products are dispatched to the correct storage or distribution locations.
- Start and stop conveying blowers, rotary feeders, and high-speed blenders within the operators area of declared competence.
- Investigate and troubleshoot faults on all equipment under your control.
- Assist in reworking master batches and reworking product as required.
- Prepare equipment for maintenance and ensure all relevant safety documents and procedures are adhered to.
- Take regular pallet samples and snap samples for laboratory testing as required.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working area at all times.
- Assist Packline operations through safe driving and daily inspection of the forklift.
- Work shifts on a chemical plant as per operational requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections on safety equipment and ensure maintenance is carried out where applicable.
- Commission equipment after maintenance and verify operational readiness.
- Perform visual checks on silo levels upon request.
- Participate actively in shift meetings, including Safety Talks, Toolbox Talks, and Monthly Team Meetings.
