Mechanical EngineerMechanical Engineer needed in Rustenburg.Our client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with opencast experience and extensive knowledge on the operations of the Yellow Machines referring to Earthmoving Equipment Hitachi, Volvo, Komatsu, CAT, Liebherr, Bell and Doosan. Any of the mentioned Earthmoving Equipment (Yellow Machines) must reflect on your CV and hands-on experience must be mentioned. Non-Negotiable referring to if you do not have any Opencast Earthmoving Equipment Machinery experience do not apply.Knowledge/Education Requirement: GCC Mines.B.Eng/ B.Tech/ BSC Mechanical Engineer.MDP or equivalent will be advantageous.Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Power Point & Excel).Formal training in Planned Maintenance will be an advantage. Experience & Requirements: At least 5 years’ experience in a position of authority and engineering role responsible for maintenance of equipment.Previous management experience is a requirement.Knowledge of pumps, pipe systems for slurry and clear water would be an advantage.Knowledge of bulk materials handling (conveyor belts, associated systems and operations of the earthmoving machine’s involvement would be an advantage).Must have a good understanding of fundamental principles of business management.Major tasks of the job: Performance management of staff reporting to engineer.Responsible for implementing safe work standards and procedures to ensure adherence to the company’s health and safety standards.Planned maintenance of plant and equipment.Co-operation with operational team to ensure plant throughput and production targets are met.Support the Plant Manager in operational duties, including human resource management.Compilation of annual capital and operating cost budgets, majors, abnormal budgets for your plant.Failure analysis and problem solving.Engineering for plant optimization.Team management.Monthly reporting of plant performance (availability of equipment) and cost performance (engineering budgets).Cost management.Stock and inventory management:Management of critical spares inventory.Management of operating spares and consumables for maintenance.Implement and maintain engineering standards.Equipment specification for procurement.Quality management for construction work done on site. Quality assurance for equipment fabrication and supply.The position will report directly to the Plant Manager, with a technical reporting to the Executive Office Business Development (Director Technical). Management of projects implemented at your plant. Personality Requirements: Must be a strong leader and team player. Must be self-motivated and enthusiastic.Must have excellent written and spoken communication skills.Must be able to prioritise work to ensure that effort is spent on most important optimization tasks.Must be able to remain focused and optimistic despite setbacks.
