Production Supervisor

International automotive component manufacturer invites the applications of a suitable Production Supervisor. KPA - To supervise the safe execution of all activities in the Manufacturing processes and to ensure the achievement of production and quality targets. KPA's : -  Production Management: • Supervise the work unit to achieve objectives • Investigate and resolve manufacturing related problems and sub-standard performance • Set and adjust manufacturing/production equipment conditions to produce quality finished products • Control the manufacturing process • Plan, Lead, Organise and Control resources in work unit • Ensure optimal plant efficiencies to achieve demand output. • Meet daily/weekly and monthly targets. • Management of WIP on areas in accordance with max. a shift worth of work. • Generate CIP ideas and drive this concept with teams. • Plant efficiency must be continually reviewed to ensure optimal usage of resources. Materials: • Conduct the monthly stock take • Identify and process waste • Effectively manage minimal usage of raw materials, consumables and PPE. Maintenance: • Anticipate and troubleshoot machine functioning • Monitor maintenance of manufacturing equipment, tooling and services • Ensure predictive and preventative maintenance is carried out when required Reporting: • Update the Shift Production results • Manage visual management boards daily • Report on production and machinery downtime People Supervision: • Ensure an enabling climate/culture • Effective and efficient communication to staff, peers and management. • Supervise the team to achieve work unit objectives. • Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels • Ensure discipline is maintained in the department (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct) • Resolve grievances and disputes  Education = (3 years completed) National Diploma or Degree (completed): Production or Operations Management Experience • Minimum 5 Years’ experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment   R25,000 ctc Education = (3 years completed) National Diploma or Degree (completed): Production or Operations Management Experience • Minimum 5 Years’ experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment
