Principal Engineer (Design Engineer: Manager)

*Principal Engineer (Design Engineer: Manager) required by client in the automotive component / accessory manufacturing sector* * Product engineering * Process engineering * Project management * Problem investigation * Staff management * Support production engineering for maximization of efficiency and process uptime * Ensure hand overs of products, processes and documentation to production are conducted communicating all critical characteristics and quality information appropriately * New product development to meet customer specification and comply with both internal and external systems requirements within the agreed upon timeline. * Handle and manage multiple projects * Ensure that designs are according to client specification * Manage and or produce BOMs * Design new mechanical components using Solidworks and AutoCAD * 2D and 3D modelling * Sheet metal design * Design of automotive components and accessories * Assist the factory with technical information during production builds * Produce manufacturing specification 2D drawings * Stress analysis simulations * Fatigue and life cycle analysis * 3D component and accessory modelling * Production ready sheet metal design (Solidworks) * Product design and development * Research and development for design improvements * Creating operation manuals, drawing control, BOMs, fitment instructions, etc * Competent in MS Office * Competent in using 3D CAD modeling software * Manufacturing process knowledge & experience, i.e., CNC tube & plate bending, laser cutting, robotics (welding, plasma cutting, polishing) * Project management skills * B Tech: Mechanical Engineering * 5 years relevant work experience * Knowledge and experience with IATF core tools * Competent in MS Office * Competent in using 3D CAD modeling software * Manufacturing process knowledge & experience, i.e., CNC tube & plate bending, laser cutting, robotics (welding, plasma cutting, polishing) * Project management skills * B Tech: Mechanical Engineering * 5 years relevant work experience * Knowledge and experience with IATF core tools
