thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions is an engineering design and construction company that specialises in providing EPC and EPCM services to its clients in industries such as petrochemical, oil and gas *Position / Job Title* *Senior Mechanical Engineer * *Company* *thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions South Africa* *Department* *Engineering* *Location* *Rivonia, Johannesburg* *Job Specification* The successful candidate will be required to fulfil the job as summarised below, but not limited to:   * Specification and design of pressure containing equipment * Preparation of project standards, engineering and technical specifications * Participating in PFD, P&ID and HAZOP studies * Assistance in the preparation of MCFDs * Selection of vendors on technical basis * Review of Vendor Documentation to ensure design integrity and compliance with specifications and statutory regulations, codes and standards * Supervision of fabrication and erection on site * Liaison with other departments to ensure the integrity of the vessels under pressure equipment and systems * Supervision of Engineers and Junior Engineers * Be able to act as lead engineer on a project.   *Scope of Work* The scope of this role will require the incumbent to work in a projects based environment covering all phases of project execution (feasibility, concept, basic, detail, construction support and commissioning).  The individual will engage in mechanical design activities related to producing and checking mechanical engineering deliverables.  The scope of this role will require the incumbent to function in a resource and/or lead role on projects. *Education and Experience* *Education* BSc Mechanical Engineering Degree or B Tech Degree. Must be registered with the Engineering Council of SA (ECSA) or be in the process of registration. *Additional educational Requirements* Have a working knowledge of the MS Office suite as well as proficiency in the use of software programs for Pressure Vessels design and preparation of technical equipment specifications would also be required.
