Job Purpose:
Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Production Planner to join a dynamic packaging manufacturing team. This developmental role is designed to groom the successful candidate into a fully-fledged Production Planner through on-the-job training and mentorship. The incumbent will gradually assume more responsibility in planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to ensure efficiency and timely delivery of orders.

This developmental role is designed to groom the successful candidate into a fully-fledged Production Planner through on-the-job training and mentorship. The incumbent will gradually assume more responsibility in planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to ensure efficiency and timely delivery of orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Production Planner in creating and maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
- Learn to interpret and analyse customer orders, inventory levels, raw material availability, and production capacity.
- Support issuing job cards and work orders to the production floor.
- Track production progress and update schedules accordingly.
- Help monitor and maintain raw material stock levels and flag potential shortages.
- Liaise with procurement, warehouse, and dispatch teams to ensure alignment in production planning.
- Collect data and generate basic reports on production output, delays, and efficiencies.
- Participate in daily production meetings, taking minutes or noting action points as required.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to production planning and order tracking.
- Take initiative to learn various processes within the manufacturing plant and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn, work under pressure, and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Keen interest in production planning and manufacturing operations.
