Junior Draughtman

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years draughting experience
• Creditable draughting or engineering qualifications
• Background in the steel industry
• Strong understanding of technical drawing symbols and standards
• High level of technical accuracy, particularly with measurements and dimensions

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience with CAD software used in the steel or fabrication industry
• Strong attention to detail and methodical working approach
• Ability to work accurately under deadlines

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce and revise detailed technical and fabrication drawings for steel components
• Interpret engineering specifications and design requirements
• Apply correct drafting symbols, tolerances, and standards
• Ensure high levels of accuracy in measurements and dimensions
• Work closely with engineers, estimators, and production teams
• Update drawings based on design changes and manufacturing feedback
• Maintain drawing registers and documentation control
