Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed design concepts, specifications, and engineering drawings
• Develop 3D models and technical documentation using industryâ??standard CAD software
• Analyse and test prototypes to verify performance and compliance
• Improve and optimise existing product designs
• Collaborate with Production, Sales, Manufacturing, and other stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and alignment with clients' needs
• Conduct research and feasibility studies on new technologies, processes, or product improvements
• Develop proofâ??ofâ??concept prototypes and perform detailed testing and reporting
• Participate in crossâ??functional project teams, supporting design execution and project delivery
• Produce technical reports, documentation, and progress updates
• Lead and support qualityâ??related activities within the design function
• Ensure that all design work adheres to the organisations SHERQ requirements (TÜV SÜD and ISO 9001)
• Maintain organised design records, engineering documentation, and revision control
• Support supplier and subâ??supplier quality interventions when required
• Ensure that all work is completed using the latest approved company documentation
• Perform additional engineering tasks as instructed by management, within the scope of expertise

Minimum Requirements:

• BEng Mechanical or BSc Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 3 years relevant engineering experience
• Experience within an OEM, engineering, fabrication, or manufacturing environment is advantageous
• Proficient in CAD software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical design principles
• Knowledge of industry standards, engineering regulations, and safety requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
• Strong analytical and problemâ??solving capabilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong timeâ??management and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
