An Estimator

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Sales and Projects teams by preparing accurate project estimates, quotations, cost analyses, and technical calculations for capital projects. This position is ideal for someone with an engineering background who enjoys problem-solving, technical costing, and working in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and compile accurate sales quotations for customers.
• Assist with the preparation of schematic and layout drawings based on customer specifications.
• Measure and specify project layouts to ensure accurate site planning and reticulation.
• Conduct detailed costing calculations for electricity and water reticulation projects, including site inspections where required.
• Prepare cost estimates for steel, panels, concrete, structures, housing, and related project components.
• Calculate landed costs and source pricing for specialised quotations.
• Maintain supplier price lists, costing databases, and pricing schedules.
• Work closely with the Sales team to develop competitive customer proposals and presentations.
• Collaborate with the Projects team to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Analyse project cost variances and report on budget deviations.
• Assist the Estimator, Costing Engineer, and Engineering team with technical calculations and capital expenditure quotations.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
• Perform additional duties as required to support the estimating and projects function.
