A Bookkeeper

Location: Industria Johannesburg

Job Summary

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting tasks, and supporting month-end processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of bookkeeping principles and experience working in a fast-paced business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Process accounts payable and receivable
• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings
• Support payroll processing and maintain employee records
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Generate financial reports as required
• Liaise with external accountants and auditors
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies

Requirements

• Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar finance role
• Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero)
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
• AAT qualification or similar (preferred)
