The Semi-Skilled Maintenance Technician supports the maintenance department by assisting in the inspection, servicing, and repair of workshop equipment, electrical systems, and mechanical infrastructure.
This role ensures that equipment and facilities remain operational, safe, and compliant by performing routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repair work under the guidance of skilled technicians and the Maintenance & Property Manager.
The position forms the foundation of the maintenance department, providing operational support while developing practical experience in industrial maintenance environments.

Equipment Maintenance & Repairs

1. Assist with breakdown repairs to minimise production downtime.
2. Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks on electrical and mechanical equipment.
3. Assist with repair or replacement of minor electrical components (switches, fuses, outlets).
4. Conduct basic mechanical adjustments including alignment, fastening, and part replacement.
5. Ensure machinery and installations remain compliant with safety and operational standards.

Inspections & Preventative Maintenance

1. Conduct routine visual and functional inspections of workshop machinery and systems.
2. Identify wear, damage, or safety risks and report findings to senior technicians or supervisors.
3. Participate in scheduled equipment inspections (quarterly and as required).
4. Record maintenance findings and inspection outcomes accurately.

Workshop Support & Asset Management

1. Maintain workshop asset control logs and equipment sign-out records.
2. Assist with spare part stock control and basic inventory tracking.
3. Support the maintenance team in ensuring spare parts availability for repairs.
