Bearings International is a member of the Hudaco Group and is a Leading distributor of Bearings and Power Transmission products in Southern Africa. We are looking for a well presented, motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a Product Development Leader for Couplings & Gearboxes to be responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirement, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. Disclaimer: Please note that all job application submissions, whether manual or electronic grants Bearings International full consent to conduct criminal, ITC and all related background check’s against the applicant. * Matric qualification * Engineering degree or diploma, a great advantage. * Min 10 years experience as a Product Manager in Couplings and Gearboxes.. * Technical and market knoweldge of related Power transmission products necesarry. * Specific knowledge from Agri sector (product & market) will be an advantage. * Demonstrated success defining and launching products. * Must be able to travel 80% of the time. * Must be technically minded and able to do product related calculations. * Must be able to use Excel/Outlook and Word at an intermediate lever or higher. * Sage X3 knowledge will be an advantage. * Extensive knoweledge of Power Transmission products, specialising in Industrial Gearboxes and couplings * Strong communication skills – verbal and written * Well-developed report writing and presentation skills * Well organised, highly self-motivated and results orientated * Ability to demonstrate stress tolerance by accomplishing assigned goals and meeting strict deadlines * Good interpersonal skills with a positive attitude, active listening * Strong negotiation skills * Self-driven and capable of working alone and within a team * Ability to make decisions and carry accountability * Determining customers needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information. * Interact with suppliers on all aspects of the business, this includes price negotiations, contract management, marketing, and promotions. * Leverage market information and analyse market trends to review and amend plans on an ongoing basis to maximise business opportunities * Continuously improve product engagement through active customer development and testing, understand changing consumer trends to apply strategies and product roadmaps that deliver added value. * Facilitate implementation of category and brand strategies * Develop core positioning and messaging for the product * Manage all aspects of new product from concept to final product and laun
