Irrigation Designer at Westfalia Fruit Estates

Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the successful incumbent will be responsible for water infrastructure design, evaluation, and maintenance. The incumbent will assist and enable the engineering management team, should ensure effective communication, and aid the relationship between Farmers/Clients and project team members Qualifications/Experience: * Diploma and or BSc /BE Eng in Civil, Mechanical or Agriculture * 3 - 5 years' experience in Civil, Mechanical or Agricultural engineering project implementation * Experience with irrigation design, dams, road maintenance and construction * Experience with budget controls, CAPEX projects and contract management * Certificate in Health & Safety Training * Valid driver's license Knowledge: * Effective planning and control of project implementation within specifications and budgets * Sound knowledge of construction methodologies * Must be able to read blueprints and understand all technical aspects of construction * Computer literate with sound knowledge of Ms office, 3D CAD programs, irrigation software and GIS systems and software Skills: * Must be able to identify, implement and maintain Health & Safety procedures in the workshop and construction sites * Have good analytical skills, be strong leader, motivator, implementer and be able to manage people * Must b able to take calculated decisions * Good writing and speaking skills Attitude/Behaviour: * Must have integrity, initiative, energy and drive * Good writing and speaking skills * Good decision maker and planner * Be able to meet deadlines at all times and to work in a structured way under pressure * Good communication skills *Desired Skills: * * Good analytical skills * Strong leader * Motivator * Good writting and speaking skills *Desired Qualification Level: * * Diploma *Employer & Job Benefits: * * Provident Fund * Medical Aid
