Duties & Responsibilities

Accounts Production (Thomson Reuters financial statement preparation software)
Supervise and review work of staff involved in Fleet, IT, Fixed Assets and Treasury Accounting
Supervise and review work of staff involved in preparation of monthly management accounts, costing and route profitability analysis
Compile, review and analyse the Group and Company-wide budget
Prepare presentations to Exco and the Board regarding the budget for the new financial year
Monthly and year end accounts preparation including variance analysis and commentary
Manage internal and external audits
Review balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the various financial accountants
Sign off of the attendance registers of the Finance department, as well as approving their leave
Create, change, block or unblock general ledger accounts in AccPac and ensuring that any new accounts are correctly grouped in the Trial balance
Open and close accounting periods in AccPac and setting month end reporting deadlines
Approve purchase requisitions against budget for various business units across the company
Provide support/financial information to various business units across the company

Our global corporate client in Sandton is looking for an Accountant with 3 years experience with a completed NQF7 degree. Completed SAICA/SAIPA Qualification an added bonus. You will be Accountable for Transaction processing, Reporting, Control, and Decision Support.

Proficient in pivot tables and V-lookups, for manipulating large quantities of data
Highly numerate and competent in Excel (for expense analysis and reporting)
Analytical review, interpretation of trends and delivering results in a deadline environment

Accounts Processing & Preparation to trial Balance including Management and Statutory Accounts
Incorporate the trial balances and cash books into the firm’s consolidated monthly accounts.

Assist in the preparation of the Group’s Limited Liability
Partnership financial statements under applicable International
Financial Reporting Standards.
Assist in the preparation of the statutory financial statements of some of the LLP’s subsidiary undertakings.
Create audit files and answer any audit queries that may arise.

Correction of any errors in posting and dealing with other queries raised.
