Any dog lover out there knows how wonderful dogs can be. They are great companions, and they can become part of the family. You can adopt dogs and puppies in the Eastern Cape in South Africa alone.

Pit Bulls

Though pit bulls have acquired a reputation of being somewhat vicious and dangerous, many owners enjoy them. These dogs are fiercely loyal to their families and grow to be a large size. These dogs have floppy ears, and their coats come in many different colours, most commonly black.

Yorkies

These dogs are small, whether you get them as puppies or as adults. Short for Yorkshire terrier, ""Yorkie"" describes a small toy breed that somehow still manages to be bold and adventurous in personality. As is the case with many small dogs, Yorkies, tend to have relatively long lifespans of about 17 to 20 years if they remain healthy.

German Shepherds

One of the most popular breeds of dogs, German Shepherds make excellent watchdogs. These are large dogs who typically grow to be about 35 to 45 kilogrammes in weight. They are loyal to their owners and appear aggressive to anyone whom they perceive as an intruder.

Pomeranians

This is a toy breed. These dogs grow to be less than 5 kilogrammes in weight, but they are just as great in terms of companionship as the larger dogs. They are fluffy and come in various colours, including white, tan, and brown.

Great Danes

Great Danes are extremely large and grow to be larger than most people. However, they are gentle in disposition and are generally wonderful even with smaller people, such as children. These dogs can grow to be as large as 91 kilogrammes, and they tend to have very short lifespans, about six to eight years on average.

Jack Russell Terriers

These dogs are on the smaller side of average, at 6.4 to 8.2 kilogrammes for an adult dog. They generally live about 13 to 16 years, and they have a playful, yet bold disposition. Though these are small dogs, they were originally bred to hunt foxes, and as such, they have strong hunting instincts.

If you want to rehome dogs and puppies in the Eastern Cape in South Africa, there are many that need a good home. If you are able, you should consider adding one to your family.
