Job Title: Quality Control Inspector Assistant Position Type: Permanent Department: Quality Assurance Job Code: QC102 Location: WWG Factory – Laboratory Job Description Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Inspector Assistant to support our Quality Assurance team in a manufacturing environment. In this role, you will be responsible for performing quality inspections and testing of pipe products on the production floor. You will work under the supervision of the Shift QC Inspector and Quality Assurance Manager to ensure all products meet internal and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Conduct Routine Inspections & Testing: Perform visual and mechanical testing of manufactured pipe and ducting products at least three times per shift. Tests include: Impact, Pressure, Thermal Reversion, Melt Flow, Belling, and Dimensional Checks. Increase testing frequency when non-conformities are found until product meets compliance. Compare & Report Results: Analyze test results against predefined standards. Promptly report any deviations to the QA Manager, Shift Supervisor, Extrusion Operator, and Factory Manager. Operate Laboratory Equipment: Use tools such as micrometers, verniers, tape measures, ovens, impact and compression testers, microscopes, HPT, GO/NO-GO gauges, and other lab instruments as required. Document Test Results: Accurately record findings in Production Control Charts, lab reports, and daily checklists. Product Classification: Identify non-conforming (NC) products, complete NC reports, and apply QA stickers to indicate “On Hold” or “Approved” status. Communicate Non-Conformances: Log and escalate non-conformities to relevant production personnel and the Factory Manager. Production Monitoring: Ensure that products meet specifications in terms of wall thickness, outside diameter (OD), workmanship, and weight compliance. Health, Safety & Environmental Guidelines: Workplace Safety: Most tasks will be performed indoors with exposure to raw materials and operational elements. Use all assigned safety equipment and PPE to mitigate risks. Compliance: Follow all company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures. Clean Work Area: Maintain a clean and orderly work environment to minimize hazards and ensure safety for yourself and others. PPE Provided: The company will supply all necessary personal protective clothing. Incident Reporting: Any injuries or safety incidents must be reported immediately to your supervisor and/or safety representative.
