Electronics are essentially equipment that has electrical circuits and active electrical components. However, most people recognise electronics as things like computers, cell phones, and video game consoles. Within each of these broad categories, there are different types of electronics that function differently; however, the ultimate purpose is to either make life easier or to provide some form of entertainment. You can often save money by searching for used electronics in South Africa

Although the term 'computer' has been around since the 17th century, the modern version of what people understand a computer to be has only been around since the 1940s. Computers have significantly advanced over the years, going from colossal machines to the lightweight tablets which have grown in recent popularity. The general category of computers covers desktop PCs, laptops, and tablets. Brands such as Hewlett-Packard, Dell, and Samsung are known as the leaders in this category, but Acer and Lenovo aren't too far behind.

Cell Phones

The use of cell phones was predicted in a 1959 essay by Arthur C. Clarke. He wrote about creating a transceiver so small that everyone could carry one, and that no one need ever be lost again. The first handheld mobile phone was demonstrated by Motorola in 1973. Over the years, the technology has improved tremendously. Cell phones were originally large and bulky, but have become small and pocket-sized. The features have gone from simple dial and speak to including text messaging, access to the internet, and game and music apps. Motorola was the leader in this field, but now Apple and Samsung are the two biggest names in smartphone technology.

Video Game Consoles

Using sophisticated circuitry to produce and display moving graphics, video game consoles have been around since 1966; however, it was almost a decade later before they became mainstream enough to appear in homes. They have since expanded to function as CD players, DVD players, and web browsers. Through the use of the internet, gamers can access other gamers around the world, and play games online with one another. The big three players in this arena are Sony PlayStation, Microsoft Xbox, and Nintendo Wii. You will find a wide selection of their secondhand electronics available online.

Electronics have become a mainstay in society, and with each new generation of electronics, the components have become smaller and more advanced. Electronics in South Africa make connecting with people easier, jobs more efficient, and entertainment more engaging.
