Head of Planning

George - A leading brand retailer is looking for a confident, motivated, positive, and resilient individual who can think laterally to join their Planning department as the Head of Planning. DescriptionTo deliver the consolidated company seasonal merchandise plans, location plans, assortment plans and monthly forecasts to the relevant stakeholders.To consistently ensure the execution of consolidated seasonal merchandise plans, location plans and assortment plans to meet the specified KPI's.A focus area will be the management and improvement of stock turnsTo provide accurate and on-time business information, align actions and manage deviations to achieve agreed merchandise objectives.To develop and influence cross functional partnerships in all specified key relationshipsTo develop empower and lead the planning team by implementing sound people management practices and creating a high-performance culture.EducationEssential 5 years merchandise planning experience of which at least 3 years is at management/senior level within clothing and or footwear retail environment.Knowledge of the retail merchandise cycle with a branded (preferred) footwear business with regards to Buying, planning, logistics and stores.Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Office Packages (Excel, Word, Outlook andPowerPoint skills - proficiency in G-Suite advantageous)A Grade 12 /Matric certificate is a minimum requirement.A relevant business qualification would be an advantage.A strong logical thinking and analytical ability with excellent numerical skills and the ability to be accurate and pay attention to detail.Has a high energy level and is performance-driven and deadline-orientated.Excellent planning, organizing and time management skills.Ability to remain flexible, function under pressure and maintain a positive attitude and work performance in a variety of circumstances.Ability to multi-task and to deal with complexities, use initiative to solve problems.Excellent interpersonal, people and team management and leadership skills.
