You will have a bachelor of law under your belt as well as being an admitted attorney. Further to this, you would have 6+ years of legal counsel experience and have completed your articles at an international law firm all the while mastering your your skillset in company legislation and regulations which affect the climate finance industry. You will find yourself acting as the in-house legal counsel on the firm's transactions across the African continent, supporting the ESG team to maintain breast of ESG policies and changes, as well as the potential risks surrounding local government laws and regulations across Africa. You will be responsible for all in-house legal counsel as well as forging strong partnerships with external advisory who partake in the success of the firms transactions. Furthermore you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that compliance is maintained and best legal practices are implemented across projects throughout the African portfolio.
