Food Safety Officer

A Reputable Company in Pietermaritzburg is offering an amazing opportunity for a Food Safety Officer. The essential duties will involve inspecting food processing facilities and procedures to ensure that applicable regulations are being followed. Testing samples of food products and investigate complaints.Minimum requirementsFood Technology Diploma or BSC qualification2 – 3 years’ experienceDutiesEnsure FSM Program is documented, established, implemented, maintained, and continually improved in accordance with the FSMP, standards/regulations and customer requirements. (This includes document procedures in accordance with standards, regulations, and customer requirements).Keep management; all employees briefed of all systems which form part of the food safety management program this includes: Standard operational procedures for management of Illness, Injuries, Personal Hygiene, Training, Cleaning & Sanitation, Pest Control, Foreign Object Management, Maintenance, Waste Management, Services & Equipment, Food Handling, Testing & Analysis and any other additional Food Safety Management Requirements.Reporting on the performance of the FSMP system to the Head of Food Quality / management and any need for improving the system, and/or correcting non-conformances raised or observed.Organised and observant individual who is detail focused as this is dealing with consumable products.
