Job Description

Reporting to the Divisional Manager, You will be responsible for:
Receiving, fettling, and despatching castings that meet customer requirements in accordance with the production plan and through the effective management of all available resources.
Initiate daily and weekly production plans, implement and maintain quality control systems to meet customer requirements and to minimise wastage of material
Accomplish department objectives by managing and delegating responsibilities and duties to subordinates in accordance with the production plan, monitor adherence to the plan evaluating outcomes and initiating corrective action plans as required
Coach, counsel and discipline employees as required
Accomplish financial objectives by controlling material and human resources costs
Ensure a safe secure and legal work environment by continually reinforcing safe works standards and applying the principle of continuous improvement in all activities
Qualifications
Mechanical Diploma or Fitter Trade Test
Skills
Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in a heavy metal industry manufacturing environment;
Knowledge of grinding, gouging & welding
