Music Compiler

The key output is music compilation in accordance to radio stations music policy and to ensure a balance of various genres and tempos, which will include the following:
Compilation of music playlists for 702, Cape Talk and Specialist music shows and act as a support role for the music stations (KFM and 947).
This may include ad hoc scheduling, clock and database maintenance on music programming for 702, Cape Talk, 947, KFM and all digital streaming.
Compilation of music features and specialty music shows that assist in achieving with the strategic goals of 702, Cape Talk and all digital streaming.
Maintain the 702, Cape Talk and all digital streaming Selector database and ensure local content information required for reporting purposes is up to date.
Engage with the Music Manager to ensure that 702, Cape Talk and all digital streaming music product is consistently amplified on social media platforms.
Liaise with the 702, Cape Talk and PRIMEDIA music programming team to ensure the music programming is promoted across the week.
Identify artists (with a particular focus on South African music) that will keep the music product engaging and relevant to the talk and music radio audiences.
Brief presenters regularly with regards to any music features or promotions to ensure they are effectively executed.
Liaising with record companies, dealing with listener queries/dedications.
Liaising with listeners regarding their queries and dedications.
Assist with music research.
Ensure that daily returns are done on stations.
Consult and liaise with the music manager, station manager and all related stakeholders.
Oversee the creation and crafting of a music playlist that is consistent with the music policy of the station by overseeing its formulation on a weekly basis.
Ensure compliance with statutory regulations through the formulation and submission of programming music logs to music rights collection societies (SAMRO/SAMPRA) within agreed timeframes.
Maximise the radio stations' music properties through the formulation and submission of music concepts and opportunities to the Station Managers.
Assist with KFM and 947 and any other music stations when compilers are on leave/sick leave and in an emergency
REQUIREMENTS
Post-matric qualification
Passion for music
Three years experience in music radio
Basic computer literacy including word processing, excel, internet, e-mail and other broadcast programmes such as selector, phone box, and sms line.
Good organisational skills.
Extensive knowledge of music ranging from the 1960s to the early 2000s.
Music radio and programming experience.
A basic understanding of the commercial radio environment and radio music formats.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure
