Mechanical Design Engineer

The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for our client in Centurion in Pretoria.

 

We are looking for a minimum of 10 years work experience in mechanical design, we require your extensive design work experience in petrochemical engineering.

 

Purpose of the role:

Produce quality technical outputs which satisfy all requirements (Clients, Codes and Standards) by adhering to internal engineering processes.

The position is a 100% technical role.



 

Minimum educational level:                        
Bachelorâ??s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 5 years post qualification
Off gas cleaning experience would be ideal
Site related experience beneficial
 

We require the following work experience:
Report writing
Design software (CAD, Hydraulic Analysis, Stress Analysis)
Technical Problem solving
Technical and Procurement Specification compilation
Adjudication of suppliers and sub-contractors
Knowledge of Inter-discipline interfaces
Working knowledge of applicable Codes and Standards
 
Skills and Experience:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure the complete design process is followed and designs are produced on time
Provide input to tender / enquiries development of design concept including estimation of workload
Compile and review industrial designs
Ensure that assigned designs are technically correct and in accordance with the appropriate codes and standards
Coordinate and manage the design teams allocated to a specific project
Ensure that the desired outputs in respect of the above are achieved
Provide inputs into planning and ensure that the team works according to the plan
Ensure scope control on allocated designs in accordance with the requirements of the project
Produce and review equipment and material specifications
Strong interpersonal skills with the client and internal relationships
