Description


We're looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.



The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and implementation of the compliance framework as approved by the Group Audit Committee and the Group board from time to time. This will include planning, scheduling and performing:
Compliance and Good Corporate Governance related Objective benchmarking, Policy drafting, design & maintenance and Policy implementation.
Routine compliance work as required per policy which includes:
Performance of compliance research, verification and documentation.
Coordination of onboarding of all suppliers and customers information as it pertains to the compliance standards set by the Group.
Presentation of completed onboarding processes to the Group Executive Committee for final review and authorisation.
Coordination and guidance of ongoing operational compliance tasks and engagement with customers and suppliers to update and enhance any compliance or governance requirements.
Reporting on all compliance related issues to the Group Executive and Audit Committees.
Maintaining and safeguarding compliance related records and supporting documentation and decisions.
Training or facilitating training of employees and respective boards of directors relating to governance and compliance (including using third party training, such as seminars from counsel etc).
Routine governance work.
Risk and systems based internal audits of business areas in conjunction with internal auditors and related service providers:
Continued development of a quality internal audit function.
Continued development of a risk and systems based annual planning and audit approach for all the group companies and execute the annual audit plan with reporting on its implementation status.
Reviewing and reporting on the efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls, accounting controls, fraud controls and corporate governance policies.
Facilitating adequate communication, coordination and review of the compliance function's work, compliance policy and compliance framework with the Group's appointed external legal counsel.
Facilitating adequate communication, coordination and review of the compliance function with auditors, internal auditors and third party service providers such as attorneys and other compliance entities.
The compliance function has a matrix reporting structure:
Operationally: Into the Group Executive Committee.
Reporting on Corporate Governance and Risk: Into the:
Group Audit Committee.
Respective Social and Ethics Committees.
Group CEO.

Required qualifications and previous experience

Qualifications (at least one):



Professional accounting qualification such as a CA (SA) registered with SAICA, CPA, ACCA or other internationally recognized accounting designation*;
Professional internal audit qualification/designation such as a CI
