Description

The core focus areas of the role include planning and analysing key business drivers of the Equity Restaurants, providing insights and implementing tactical / value driven initiatives in the field. The role includes coaching and building financial acumen in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning and forecasting: 20%

Detailed planning at a store level with inputs from all stores, reviewing past trends, targeting inefficiencies and incorporating AOP assumptions from other functions

Building dynamic forecasting tools. The role includes automating and assisting with building BI reports and dashboards to improve insights

Quarterly revision of Forecasts to incorporate changes in assumptions and the latest actuals

Key Business Objectives: 60%

Identify / share / implement commercial best practices in the Equity restaurants

Tracking of the Equity KPIs and providing insights to the Equity team

Deep dive and resolve material variances in the P&L and provide actionable recommendations

Benchmarking of Equity P&L to Franchisees and detailed analysis of the Equity P&L

Flow-Through analysis. Flow through is analyzed at a store level to ensure stores are operating effectively

Pacesetter-Benchmarking tool - Preparation and analysis of the Pacesetter tool and providing guidance to ASLs as to best practices and how to implement the Pacesetter tool

Balanced Score Card:  updating thereof and amending and enhancing this tool should the need arise.  Resolving any variances or queries for both restaurant level and ASL

Various Labor reports - tracking of actual hours used by each of the Equity restaurants, tracking of overtime, tracking of actual hours versus optimal hours etc.

Providing financial analysis and insight into GAP and Wastage reports and implementing learnings in the field

Financial analysis and support for LSM offers

Partnering with the business development team and assisting with business / store models

Coaching and Training: 20%

Commercial Acumen / P&L training. The role is expected to hold regular P&L and commercial acumen training sessions with RGMs and ASLs


Qualifications:

B Comm or equivalent 

Experience:

3-5 years experience in Financial /Commercial roles

Ability to forge strong alliances with cross functional stakeholders

Ideally proven experienced in operations but not a prerequisite.

Proven ability to identify operational optimization opportunities through in-depth reviews

Drive action plans to deliver tangible outcomes

Must have a strong track record in commercial / financial optimisation roles

Competencies/Skills:

Advanced skills in MS Office with strong Excel skills

PowerBI skills preferable

Strong ability to communicate in oral and written forms
