*Reference: JHB001186-DOM-1* Urgently require the skills of an experienced New Business Consultant/ Underwriter. Must have a FETC in Short Term Insurance (150 Credits) with Min of 2 yrs experience in Personal Lines - Short Term Insurance Sales. Higher Certificate in Short Term Insurance will be an advantage. Urgently require the skills of an experienced New Business Consultant/ Underwriter. Must have a FETC in Short Term Insurance (150 Credits) with Min of 2 yrs experience in Personal Lines - Short Term Insurance Sales. Higher Certificate in Short Term Insurance will be an advantage. *Minimum Requirements:* * Matric * Minimum 2 years relevant work experience in short-term insurance sales (Personal Lines). * FETC (Further Education & Training Certificate) in Short Term Insurance – NQF 4 (150 credits) – essential. * Higher Certificate in Short Term Insurance – NQF 5 or higher – highly advantageous * Successfully passed RE 1 (Representative Exam). * Computer literate – Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. * Exposure to, or work experience on the TIAL Operating System (System A) – highly advantageous. * Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant short-term insurance policy wording (Personal Lines). * Sound proficiency in both English and Afrikaans languages (verbal and written). *Competencies Required:* * Ability to plan and prioritise own time to achieve set targets/ performance objectives * Ability to take initiative and respond pro-actively and independently to situations to secure positive results. * Recognises and takes advantage of opportunities that others pass by * Accepts ownership and accountability for one’s own actions and decisions * Open to learning opportunities and is committed to continuous self-development * Ability to communicate openly, and with impact (strong negotiation skills and the ability to sell). * Ability to adapt one’s communication style and content to the audience and context. * Ability to easily connect with others and develop professional relationships and partnerships with others. * Strong listening skills. * Ability to collaborate successfully with others to achieve common goals/ targets. * Demonstrate high levels of customer-centricity. * Effective numerical skills and ability to think analytically with good attention to detail * Solution-based thinking. * High levels of self-perception (confidence, self-empowerment, optimism, self-respect) * Is not easily deflected by setbacks or rejection. * Must be incentive/ target driven. * Must demonstrate effective business acumen, and knowledge of current trends and opportunities within the industry. *Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:* * Personal Lines quoting. * Communicating and negotiating rates and premiums with brokers. * Write profitable business and maintain satisfactory loss ratios. * Evaluating and validating clients. * Maintaining efficient turn-around times. * Ensure adherence to prescribed
