External Sales Engineer - Johannesburg

A leader in the Electrical Engineering field is seeking a progressive External Sales Engineer to join their team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will need to develop strong relationships with customers and to bring in enquiries, follow-up on quotations and successfully negotiate orders as well as maintain existing customer relationships and to develop new ones. You will need to meet the following requirements to be considered for the position: * Matric * Formal electrical qualification – A recognised Electrical Trade is essential * Electrical Diploma or N3 qualification will be advantageous * Experience in Electric Motors is essential * Experience in: Variable Speed Drives, Electric Panels and related products  * Extensive experience in the sales field * Proficient in MS Office and SYSPRO.  * Good negotiating and presentation skills.     Some of the main KPAs are: * Direct selling to customers and generating new sales leads. * Visit assigned customers according to planned calling schedules. * Prepare budgets, estimated potential and planned profitability per customer. * Actively promoting the sales of motors to existing customers and researching new market * opportunities. * Obtain enquiries, prepare quotations and follow up to conclusion. * Develop leads on other Products. * Submit a monthly sales report.   This is an ”On the Road” position so you will need to be willing to travel extensively, including frequent overnight stays away from home base.
