Agricultural Machine Operator & Mechanical Manager

Mixed farming enterprise in the Eastern Free State (near Ladybrand) requires a competent and reliable addition to this family-run team. The focus of the role falls strongly in cropping – in operating and maintaining agricultural machinery. However, the other aspects of the role will be aligned to the applicant’s skill set and the farm’s seasonal priorities.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous agricultural machinery operator experience – particularly combining & spraying. Minimum 3 years
• Mechanic trade certificate or diploma advantageous
• “Mechanically-minded”
• Proven experience working and repairing farm related implements
• Experience in or managing a factory / warehouse / processing facility advantageous
• Flexibility in a mixed farming enterprise – taking on responsibilities based on the season and farming requirements; as well as the applicant’s skill set
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to communicate in English and Sotho; and work as part of a team
