Position Overview:
As an Automation Technician, you will be
responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and
maintenance of a variety of automated systems. This role is best suited for a
technically skilled individual who has experience working with gate motors,
roller shutter systems, automated glass doors, access control systems, and who
also possesses welding capabilities. A valid driver’s license and the ability
to travel between sites is essential.
Key
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain:Gate motors (sliding and swing)Roller shutter motors and controllersGlass door automation systems (including sensors and actuators)Access control systems (keypads, card readers, biometric systems)
Perform welding and basic metalwork as part of installations and
supportsConduct system testing and commissioning to ensure operational
efficiencyDiagnose and repair faults on automated systems and mechanical
componentsEnsure all installations meet quality, safety, and compliance
standardsProvide on-site support and maintenance as requiredAccurately complete job cards, reports, and handover documentationCollaborate with team members, clients, and project managers to
ensure successful project deliveryMaintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working
order
Minimum Requirements:
Matric certificate or equivalent qualificationMinimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in automation
installationsSolid understanding of wiring diagrams, schematics, and motor
functionsProficient in welding (steel and/or aluminium)Must
have a Valid South African driver’s license Sound knowledge of health and safety practices in the fieldExcellent troubleshooting and fault-finding abilitiesAbility to work under pressure, independently, and in a team
environmentGood interpersonal skills and client service orientation

Attributes:
