SCOPE OF WORK
Successful candidates will be involved in the installation,
replacement, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure, including but not
limited to:
1. Smart Meter Installations
Supply
and installation of smart meters (BS Footprint & DIN-Rail mounted)Replacement
of old non-smart meters at customer premisesInstallation
of:Single
Phase & Three Phase PLC Split Smart MetersSmart
meters with CIU and GSM Modems
2. Data Concentrator Units (DCUs)
Installation
of DCUs at transformer zones and mini-substationsGateway/Data
Concentrators with GSM Modems
3. Ready Board Retrofit & Access Covers
Installation
of split meter ready board retrofitsInstallation
of protective access covers after removal of old metersEnsuring
safe coverage of live terminals
4. Insulation Piercing Connectors (IPC)
Installation
of IPC clamps for pole-top boxes and electrical connectionsWorking
with bi-metal IPC clamps and tee connectors (as per Eskom specifications)
5. Pole-Top Metering Kiosks & DC Kiosks
Installation
of pole-top split metering kiosksInstallation
of secure pole-mounted DC kiosks (various sizes and ratings)
6. Related Accessories
Installation
of all associated accessories and materialsCompliance

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
For LV Technicians
Valid Electrical
Trade Test Certificate (LV)Proven
experience in meter installations and electrical maintenanceKnowledge
of Eskom standards and safety regulationsAbility
to work at heights and on pole-top installationsValid
driver’s licence (advantage)
For MV Technicians
Valid Electrical
Trade Test Certificate (MV)Experience
working on MV networks, substations, and kiosksStrong
understanding of MV safety procedures and switchingPrevious
Eskom or utility project experience (advantage)
