SERIES NAME CORT STERLING SERIES S2800 (UPGRADE to: CORT S2500) Dates of manufacture 1998 to 2000 This particular S2800 is a MK1, 1st generation, high-end 1998 model. The S2800 has an offset Strat style body with an extra deep cutaway allowing easy access to the upper frets. The headstock was designed for straight string pull from the bridge to the nut. The S2800 models featured a soft maple body with a quilted maple top. Seymour Duncan pickups, Coil tap for coil splitting, Sperzel USA Trim-lok machine heads and a Wilkinson VS50II Tremolo and Wilkinson roller nut. The earlier 1998 models had a block 'Cort' logo inlay at the 12 fret and also appeared to have a different shaped body (1998 with a longer upper horn), a different shaped headstock and different headstock logo. I've owned a limited edition Cort Masterpiece series guitar in the past (for those of you that actually know what that is!). This S2800 stacks up to that and can more than hold it's own, hands down. Lovely NECK, plays like butter. I also appreciate the fact that the hardware is anodized, so the GOLD won't RUB OFF! Setup with fresh NEW strings supplied and fitted: Ernie Ball Super slinky 9 - 42s Lowered action and reset intonation as well. Very comfortable and extremely easy to play, effortless.
