Yamaha is among the most successful brands in the segment of nylon-stringers and the G55-1 is one of it's most popular models The Yamaha G-55-1 is a vintage 1970s to early 1980s Taiwanese-made classical guitar, often featuring a cedar top with mahogany back/sides (or some with maple back/sides), a rosewood fretboard, 2inch nut width and 3 a side open gear machine heads. KEY SPECIFICATIONS: Model: G-55-1 (Classical) Production Era: Mid-1970s to early 1980s Made In: Taiwan Top: Cedar Back/Sides: Mahogany Neck: Mahogany Fingerboard: Rosewood Nut Width: 2 inches (approx. 50-52mm) Tuners: 3x3 Open Gear Weight: 3.30 lbs Has an enhanced richer, warmer and brighter voice. Attributed for the most part to the ample maturity in the top that ensures an angelic like tone. She's opened up beautifully. Money can't buy matured tone like this new in a shop... Guitar is in good condition for it's age, considering she's over 40 years old. There's a number of nicks and little scratches, but she looks good overall as a whole. No cracks or holes in the body!! SETUP with NEW strings supplied and fitted: Ernie Ball Ernesto Palla Clear and silver Tie-on type Classical nylon strings MEDIUM TENSION. She will be maintenence-free for a good long while going forward. READY to GO!

*Collection in Claremont* Yamaha G225 Classical Guitar, it’s a lovely instrument - it sounds amazing and plays so sweetly. It has a bone saddle and nut fitted, it has beautiful tone with great projection, a really nice fast clean playing neck with low action. The string height at the 12th fret is 3.5mm on the Low E and 3.25mm on the High E. It has a few dings/scratches in the finish but overall its still in very nice condition. A new set of D'Addario EJ45 Pro-Arte Nylon Normal Tension Acoustic Guitar Strings was recently fitted, they are nice strings and highly regarded.
