This is the last year the Beetle came with the classic teardrop tail lights before they became larger and bulkier in 1972. Collectors and enthusiasts know these details matter — they’re part of what makes the ’71 such an iconic, sought-after model.What’s been done:

Set of original chrome bumpers for a 1969 Volkswagen Beetle. Solid and straight – classic OEM quality. Chrome still shines, but there’s some surface rust in places (see photo). Usable as-is for a driver, or ideal candidates for rechroming if you’re doing a full restoration.
