The Altix IV was made in Dresden, the former East Germany in 1952 and had a fixed 50mm lens with helical focus, an accessory shoe and it used the standard 36x24mm film format. Similar to previous models it was a bottom-loading camera, the bottom plate would come off and an uptake spool needed to be inserted. A flap that opens at the back made loading easier.It features wind knobs, flash sync socket, name engravings and the shutter plate. The camera is in perfect condition, absolutely no scratches or wear and tear. It was released in 1982 and has been in the family since then. My uncle bought it and used it mostly on family holidays. Anyone who loves photography will really enjoy this camera.It is a well-built, purely mechanical, simple, 35mm Single Lens Reflex (SLR) camera from Ricoh and was very popular at the time because it is so easy to use.
