The successful candidate will be involved in the fabrication, repair and finishing of light commercial trailers and related equipment.Key Responsibilities• CO₂ welding on mild steel components
• Cutting steel using a cutting torch and other cutting equipment
• Fabrication and assembly of trailer structures
• Grinding, drilling and general steel finishing
• Spray painting and surface preparation
• Use of hand tools and workshop machinery
• Repair and maintenance of trailers and components
• Ensuring quality workmanship and safety standards are metMinimum Requirements• Minimum of 5 years experience in welding or boilermaking
• Proven experience in fabrication, grinding, cutting and general workshop duties
• Experience in the trailer manufacturing or maintenance industry will be an advantage
• Sound technical knowledge of trailers will be an advantage
• Own toolbox is compulsory
• Grade 12 Matric
• Computer literate
• Valid driver’s license is compulsory
• Must be fluent in English and Afrikaans
• Must have own reliable transportPersonal Attributes

Minimum Requirements:Matric / Grade 10 minimum (N3 Mechanical advantageous)Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a trailer or heavy-vehicle maintenance environmentBasic knowledge of:Trailer brakes & suspension systemsAxles, wheel bearings, and hubsElectrical systems (12V/24V)Welding/cutting toolsValid drivers licence (Code 10/EC advantageous)Experience in a transport/logistics workshop is beneficialMechanical aptitude & problem-solving skills.Key Responsibilities:Assist with routine maintenance and repairs on trailers (flat-deck, tautliner, tanker, super-link, etc.)Perform brake adjustments, wheel bearing checks, suspension component checks, and minor repairsAssist with air-brake system repairs and fault finding under supervisionReplace lights, wiring, reflectors, and basic electrical trailer componentsConduct tyre checks, tyre changes, and wheel torquingAssist with welding and fabrication work (basic MIG/Arc welding skills an advantage)Conduct trailer inspections and report defectsMaintain a clean and safe work environment and toolsFollow workshop safety, PPE, and operational proceduresComplete job cards and assist with service recordsSupport qualified mechanics with major repairs when required.How to Apply:
