are seeking a Front End Supervisor to join our team. You’ll have full accountability for the day-to-day running of our
front end department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
·
Monitor that all front-end rules and procedures are
being followed by cashiers and packers and rectify any contraventions
·
Record and inform GRV office immediately of any
price / product changes
·
Record all end of day readings daily. Including
smart-boxes EFT; debit / credit cards
·
Process transactions when cashiers are not able to
get through and process all zip zap transactions when system becomes available
again
·
Verify Cheque details and ask for alternative
payment and call management.
·
Control cashier deposit with the cashier and smart
box boxes continuously
·
Control front end supervisor float and maintain
change requirements
·
All cashiers and packers to be trained to perform
their functions effectively
·
Set daily / weekly schedules to optimize staff
within budget limiting the use of casuals and overtime
·
Planned annual leave cycles
·
All maintained to required hygiene standards
·
Ensure staff are well groomed and presented at all
times
·
Ensure all cashiers maintain their till points and
surrounding areas
·
Ensure items left by customers are returned to the
correct department as soon as possible. Perishable products to be given to
department manager
·
Ensure packers return used trolleys and baskets to
their stations throughout the store and trolleys are collected from the parking
areas throughout the day
·
Ensure all Front End equipment is maintained and in
good working order at all times
·
Ensure all spillages are cleaned immediately
·
Honour the DYMB Guarantee in conjunction with the
duty manager
·
Returns are courteously processed under the
guidance of the duty manager
·
Always polity refer complaints and irate customers
to management immediately
·
Manage a team of people to achieve targets set
·
Communicate effectively with consumers, teammates
and suppliers
REQUIREMENTS
·
At least 3 years’ experience in retail / trainee
management program
·
At least 2 years’ experience as a cashier
·
Computer literacy required.
·
Industrial Relations experience advantageous.
·
Matric / NQF level 4 equivalent
·
Good communication skills
·
Must be prepared to work
shifts.
·
Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
·
Problem-solving skills
