The Role & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete construction of various garments, with a specific focus on high-end, couture-level dresses.
Independent Operation: Must be capable of managing the entire sewing process from start to finish without direct supervision.
Garment Construction: Proficiently cut, assemble, and finish all types of garments, ensuring impeccable fit and finish.
High-End Focus: Demonstrated expertise in handling fine fabrics and executing complex techniques required for premium and high-end dresses.
Quality Assurance: Uphold the highest standards of quality and attention to detail in every stitch.
Compensation Structure
This position operates on a piece-rate compensation model. You will be paid per garment successfully completed according to established quality standards. This rewards speed, efficiency, and the quality of your output.
Requirements
Proven Experience: Significant, demonstrable experience as a professional seamstress or dressmaker, specifically working on high-quality or bespoke garments.
Autonomy: Ability to self-manage time, prioritize tasks, and work effectively with minimal oversight.
Technical Skill: Exceptional knowledge of industrial sewing machines, pressing techniques, and finishing details.
Location: Must be able to work from our premises in the Cape Town City Centre.
