4-Frame Stainless Steel Honey Extractor – ElectricThis is an amazing honey spinner.It takes the bees about 8x the amount in nectar to build 1x of beeswax comb.So, how does this impact honey production? For every frame you are spinning in a honey extractor the bees can just refill it in about 7-10 days!!For every frame you cut the honey comb out and crush the bees have to rebuild it while they wait for new storage space to be available and you / they LOSE about 3-weeks of honey production time!This honey extractor provides for 4 super frames and can also take 4 brood frames from Langstroth hives.When on a nectar flow, when flowers are blossoming in your area where the bees are, a strong colony can FILL a drawn comb (comb with cells already built) within 7-10 days! The hardest part for the bees is establishing the first set of comb throughout the bee hive. Once this is done, the rest can be reused for the supers for months and perhaps years before they need maintenance. The brood space is different. Intermediate Beekeeping Course – (Course Fee: R1595,00) runs monthly Intermediate beekeeping course for new beekeepers and hobbyists that want to grow their experience.You’re ready to get more bee knowledge!We run a bee course for beginners on a Saturday for a full day. We will focus on as much hands-on theory as possible with at least 3 hours of practical work at a hive or performing practical extraction.The PRACTICAL Beekeeping demo includes each learner removing a frame from a live bee hive and inspecting it. A search for the queen bee and description of comb, drone cells, larvae, eggs and internal workings of the hive. All learners participate in the practical exercise with multiple live bee hives.We will be charging R1550 for the bee course which includes the facilitation and tea and biscuits at the site. Please be sure you purchase necessary equipment such as a bee suit and gloves before coming on the workshop.
