EXCLUSIVE SOLE MANDATE: The Karoo has so many special attributes (unpolluted immense beautiful land, sky, climate and a quality indescribable until one lives here) and when one does get to live here no other place compares…In fact, KONNINGSRUS is exactly that “A place a King can rest.”The Karoo is an area of large farms so to find a small farm under R2,5 million (literally the price of a medium-sized house) is improbable. In addition, this Lifestyle FARM is situated very close to the Magical town of Graaff-Reinet (the 4th oldest in South Africa with the second most registered Heritage buildings) where every convenience is available and yet far enough from feet that it naturally offers the highest possible security in South Africa. This area’s population has remained constant and is expected to go into the future at a marginal pace in comparison to any other town and with a buoyant micro-economy.There exists a large lived-in 3-bed farmhouse that needs TLC. It is a blank canvas, and its porches do not make it difficult to imagine a palatial “Out of Africa” home in British Africa.Improvements made since the last purchase are the building of infrastructure, livestock handling infrastructure, fencing, a shed, and workshops. There is also a useful but unfinished building that was originally used as accommodation for workers. The neighbours in this area have formed a very effective neighbourhood watch indicative of the community and gees.If it is a peaceful healthy lifestyle, one is looking for, one that allows one to wake up with a smile each morning then the tranquility and beauty of the country, the mountains, it does not get better than this.Property Reference #: RL6243Agent Details:Ken TaytasacAgrisell PTY Ltd9A Kerk StreetPiketberg7320

Strategic advantages of the farm – Do Not miss this ONE:There is not yet one I have met that does not speak highly of the Karoo for its remarkable attributes and of the magic of Graaff-Reinet. 417 Rynheath is situated just 7km South-East of Graaff-Reinet on the right-hand side of the main road to Port Elizabeth, the R63, and away from the road. All wish to have/find a small holding or even better a farm so near Graaff-Reinet.To top all the Sundays River traverses the farm, the farm has abundant water for the area. Land of 31ha is irrigated via a centre pivot. In addition, a large (registered) dam assures more than sufficient supply and storage. This property has been in the family since 1952 a testament to the value offered in every respect. The farm is ideal for sheep farming. Food grows everywhere and the ratio of usable land is 100%.There is a very comfortable primary farmhouse, other accommodations, as well as several functional farm buildings.Farms in this location which are few rarely come available. There is no doubt one is buying economic sustainability, off-the-grid peace, and countryside beauty. Do not miss this ONE.Potential Income opportunities of the farm:Rynheath is first and foremost a commercial farm offering true “Off the Grid and Economic living”. It has sustained its owners through sheep, and other farming. It is a place to earn, enjoy and live life.Based on well-patronized neighbouring tourist accommodations there is a healthy tourist market for this farm to take advantage of.Property Reference #: CL447Agent Details:Ken TaytasacAgrisell PTY Ltd9A Kerk StreetPiketberg7320

If you are visiting Nieu Bethesda and the Owl House, enrich your experience with a stay at Murrayfield Guest House, owned by the author of the The Owl House, Anne Graaff. Murrayfield Guest House is a characterful and gracious village home built in the 1850s, set in a country garden with barn, dam and orchard. A stunning example of a Victorian farmhouse, Murrayfield features a lovely front veranda ideal for sunsets and stargazing, high ceilings with fans for the heat of summer, a fireplace for cosy winter evenings, an old fashioned full-length bath for a good soak after a country walk, a large veranda overlooking the garden, and of course a large brick barbecue.Murrayfield is artistically and entertainingly furnished with a mixture of old and new, and is equipped with heaters, electric blankets, bed linen, towels, and tea and coffee. There are three units available that can be rented separately or together. Nieu Bethesda is a pretty and authentic Karoo village situated in a beautiful valley in the Eastern Cape, about an hours drive from the town of Graaff-Reinett. It was founded in the mid-nineteenth century and the village has many wonderful country homes which exemplify the Victorian architecture of this period. The village provides a wonderful venue for a Karoo holiday, offering good walks, a great variety of bird life for the birdwatching enthusiast, an artistic and relaxed atmosphere for those who want to unwind and enjoy the creativity and tranquility of the place, and lots of choice from where to eat and what to do. The village is of course famous for being the home of outsider artist Helen Martins who created the Owl House, and a visit to the Owl House is almost obligatory for visitors to Nieu Bethesda. The Owl House inspired the well-known writer, Athol Fugard to write the play The Road to Mecca. Nieu Bethesda also has a fascinating fossil museum, and the valley is rich in pre-mammalian fossils, older than the dinosaurs. In addition, there is the opportunity to visit a nearby farm and view San rock art, the fossil beds, wool shed, and Boer War engravings. Jacobs Donkey Cart Tours provides an excursion around the village with an entertaining commentary, and a visit to Sneeuberg Trading to meet the local brewer and cheese maker and sample his excellent produce is another treat not to be missed.Nearby Graaff-Reinet is a centre of Karoo culture and history featuring national monuments, and several significant museums and art galleries including the Pierneef Exhibition. Also nearby are the Valley of Desolation in the Camdeboo National Park and the scenic Mountain Zebra National Park which protects one of the worlds rarest land mammals.FurnishedProperty Reference #: 257447Nearby Places/Vicinity:http://www.safarinow.com/go/murrayfieldguesthousenieubethesda/Agent Details:www.safarinow.com153 Main roadMuizenberg7945

A circular double-storey with an interesting past. This quirky building was first a water tower and then a Buddhist meditation room. With whitewashed walls and wooden floors, it is a calm and clean space from which to enjoy the famous Karoo sky, day or night. The Water Tower sits in a pleasant garden in the heart of Nieu Bethesda. The Water Tower sleeps two guests on a queen-size bed in the room upstairs adjoining the sun&star deck. The kitchenette is below with the private shower and composting toilet attached in a separate outbuilding. Do some stargazing on the deck before creeping under your crisp cotton sheets, lamb’s wool duvets and mohair blanket. Life in Nieu Bethesda potters along much as it did 130 years ago, when the village was founded. Stone water furrows still line the wide, dusty streets. Night skycaps are unpolluted by streetlights and the air is still fresh and clean.Nieu Bethesda has a working network of furrows, with water supplied daily from a spring on the plateau above the village. Residents channel water into their gardens using smaller gated funnels. Visitors can hike along the furrows up to the spring or prearrange a hike up Kompasberg mountain or through the Canyon on one of the surrounding farms. The area around Nieu Bethesda is good for either a leisurely ride or a challenging ride for serious mountain bikers. Wake up early to conquer one of the two mountain bike routes in the area or stroll around town exploring the many galleries and eateries dotted around the village.FurnishedProperty Reference #: 928343Nearby Places/Vicinity:http://www.safarinow.com/go/thewatertowernieubethesda/Agent Details:www.safarinow.com153 Main roadMuizenberg7945

Strategic advantages of the farm:This is an opportunity to go “Off the Grid” as small farms, hence sold at more reachable prices, in the greater magical Karoo are few and therefore don’t often become available. This small FARM is situated very close to the Magical town of Graaff-Reinet but far enough from feet that it naturally offers the highest possible security. And…if you are looking for an investment that can also earn an Income then look no further, Not only has the owner put in far more than is being asked but the property is likened to an oasis in the desert. It offers a stunningly decorated primary farmhouse and garden, just move in AS THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO DO.It is clear there is more than enough water of above-average quality and more than sufficient solar energy for operations, accommodation, and above-average water supply. The infrastructure of the farm is ALSO above average and geared towards farming. Currently, the owner farms/grows Ostrich, Sheep and Cattle for their own consumption. Under 2ha of food supply, lucerne irrigated by draglines is grown.Tranquil Springbuck roams the property. The neighbours in this area have formed an effective neighbourhood watch group that when there is an alleged concern all vigilantly participate in patrols and support etc.If it is a peaceful healthy lifestyle…..one is looking for, the potential of a farming concern and, the tranquillity and beauty of the country, then it does not get better than this.Potential Income opportunities of the farm:This small FARM is first and foremost a commercial farming venture earning significant, income per annum and offering true “Off the Grid living”. It’s a safe place to live, earn, enjoy or heal. It is located in a part of the Karoo and neighbourhood that is as safe as it can get. Based on well-patronized neighbouring tourist accommodations there is a healthy tourist market for this farm to take advantage of.
