An iconic Underwood Model 5 vintage typewriter, solidly constructed from strong cast iron and built to stand the test of time. This is a beautifully made, historically significant machine and remains in good overall condition for its age.
Please note: the typewriter has not been tested and is therefore sold voetstoots (as-is).
The Underwood Model 5 is regarded as the first widely successful modern typewriter, introducing key design elements that became the industry standard throughout the 20th century. These include a four-row straight keyboard, a single shift key, and front-striking typebars that allow the user to see the text as it is typed.
Due to the heavy cast-iron construction, the unit is very heavy.
Collection is preferred.
